2×2 Passport Photo Maker

Crop a square photo, export one 600×600 pixel image, or place six 2×2 inch copies on a 4×6 sheet at 300 DPI.

For sizing and layout only. It does not check lighting, identity, photo age, retouching or acceptance.

What this 2×2 maker produces

The U.S. printed passport-photo size is exactly 2 by 2 inches. At 300 pixels per inch, that maps to a 600×600 pixel image. The 4×6 download is 1200×1800 pixels and fits two columns by three rows without changing the size of each square.

Use the crop without changing your appearance

  1. Start with a recent, unedited color photo.
  2. Upload it and move the image until the head is centered.
  3. Use the oval as a visual aid, then compare the result with the official composition guide.
  4. Generate the sheet and download either the single photo or the 4×6 layout.
  5. For a physical print, select 4×6 paper and Actual Size or 100% scaling.

Important U.S. measurement

The Department of State says the head in a printed photo should measure 1 to 1⅜ inches (25–35 mm) from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head. A square crop alone cannot verify this measurement or any other acceptance rule. Review the official U.S. passport photo instructions before submitting.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2×2 the same as 600×600 pixels?

Only when the file is intended to print at 300 DPI. Inches describe physical output; pixels describe the digital canvas.

Can I use the single photo for an online renewal?

Do not assume that a paper-photo file is valid for an online route. Follow the pixel, format and upload instructions shown in the application you are completing.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Cropping and sheet generation happen in browser memory on your device.
