Privacy Policy

Effective and last reviewed: June 28, 2026

The short version

Your uploaded photo is read and processed by JavaScript inside your web browser. We do not upload, receive or store that photo on our server. Like many websites, we use hosting logs, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Those services can process device and usage information, subject to your choices and applicable law.

Your photo stays on your device

Cropping, resizing, creating the single-photo file and building the 4×6 sheet happen locally. Closing or refreshing the page clears the in-memory working image. Do not upload an image if you are using an untrusted or shared device.

1. Who operates this site

Passport Photo Template is an independent online utility operated by the Passport Photo Template editorial team. It is not a government agency and is not affiliated with passport, visa or immigration authorities. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected]. See our About page for the site’s purpose and review method.

2. Information processed

Uploaded images

Images are processed locally and are not transmitted to us. We cannot view or recover them.

Basic server logs

Our web host may automatically record information needed to serve and secure the site, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser user-agent, response status and referring page. Retention and security controls can depend on the hosting provider.

Messages you send

If you email us, we receive the address, message and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond, investigate corrections and protect the service.

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage such as visited pages, approximate region, device type and browser. Analytics storage is denied by default until you accept optional cookies through our banner. We have also enabled IP anonymization in our site configuration. Google may still process consent signals and limited device information needed to provide its services. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

4. Google AdSense and advertising

This site uses or plans to use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, process IP addresses, or use other identifiers to serve, limit, measure and personalize advertising where permitted. Your choices, location, browser settings and Google account settings can affect this processing. Rejecting optional cookies does not affect the local photo tool, though ads may be non-personalized, limited or absent.

For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, we also intend to use Google’s certified consent-management solution in AdSense Privacy & messaging when ads are served. The on-page preference banner is not presented as a substitute for any certified CMP required by Google.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use local storage to remember your cookie choice. Google services may use cookies or similar technologies when allowed. A detailed category list and instructions for changing your choice are in our Cookie Policy.

6. Legal bases and retention

Where required, optional analytics and advertising storage relies on consent. Essential security, fraud prevention and page delivery may rely on legitimate interests or the need to provide the service. We keep contact messages only as long as reasonably needed to respond, document corrections or meet legal obligations. We do not control retention by third-party providers; consult their policies.

7. Sharing and international processing

We do not sell uploaded photos or personal information. Information described above may be processed by infrastructure, security, analytics and advertising providers. Google and other providers may process data in countries outside your own, using the safeguards described in their policies.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Reject or accept optional cookies from the banner.
  • Reopen choices using the button below.
  • Use browser controls to delete stored data or block cookies.
  • Use Google’s ad controls at My Ad Center.
  • Ask us to access, correct or delete information you sent directly, subject to applicable law.

9. Children, security and changes

The service is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should supervise any minor using identity photographs. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website is risk-free. We may update this policy when services or legal requirements change and will show the revision date at the top.

10. Contact

Email [email protected] or use the contact and corrections page.
